On this week’s episode of Make Me A Gamer, TMan forces HarveyZ to choose between jorts and Crocs as this week’s Snap. Then HarveyZ details what his perfect game would be like (and it’s not what you’d expect!) before TMan dives into the news of the week. This includes Google’s announcement of Stadia specs, the possibility of Overwatch 2, newly announced Pokemon (Wooloo!), and Darksiders Genesis. Then TMan ends by heaping effusive praise on a lesser-known NES game: Rockin’ Kats! We hope you enjoy! (This episode was recorded June 6th, 2019.)
It’s time for another episode of Make Me A Gamer! On this week’s episode, TMan and HarveyZ talk all about their mains! From Smash Bros to Mortal Kombat, from Twisted Metal to Mario Kart, they end up having an hour long discussion on their favorite characters to play as and why they like them. Enjoy! (This episode was recorded May 16, 2019.)
Sorry for the day delay, but here’s this week’s promised episode of Make Me A Gamer! There’s a lot of news to cover in this edition, so TMan and HarveyZ discuss Reggie Fils-Aime’s retirement, the new starter Pokemon, the new Overwatch hero, and THQ Nordic’s weird and ill-advised AMA. Then to top it all off, they get back to their roots and share XCOM 2 stories and TMan gushes about his new obsession: Battletech! We hope you enjoy! (This episode was recorded February 28th, 2019.)
Welcome to another episode of Make Me A Gamer! It just so happened that when we recorded this, it was at the exact same time that the Washington Justice were playing the London Spitfire in Overwatch League. Since TMan and HarveyZ are both fans of the Justice, they ended up multitasking and talking about Overwatch League and Overwatch in general for basically the entire episode while watching the game! TMan goes into detail explaining some of the finer points of strategy and new & old Overwatch metas to HarveyZ. This was a bit of an experiment, but we hope it turned out fun, entertaining, and informative! We hope you enjoy! (This episode was recorded February 21st, 2019.)
It’s Friday, and despite having an off week this week I’m not going to let a Friday go by without a top 5! So in celebration of the second season of Overwatch League starting this week, it’s time for my top 5 teams in the OWL!
HarveyZ’s back for a new episode of Make Me A Gamer! After educating TMan on the philosophy of HYGGE! the two talk about the latest Overwatch news & controversies. They also cover the hit new Venmo trend that’s been going around, along with Nintendo officially making Bowsette non-canon, Soulja Boy’s consoles getting pulled off the internet, and Bethesda’s Nuka Dark Rum misfire. Then they end with a short discussion about board games. (This episode was recorded January 8th, 2019.)
Soldier 76 is gay. Blizzard has now revealed both of what would be considered the “primary” Overwatch characters to be LGBT+. The first reveal was Tracer being in a lesbian relationship in a comic, and now Soldier 76 through the short story Bastet. Tracer is the face of Overwatch – she’s on the box when you buy it and was the primary good guy of the very first Overwatch short. And Soldier 76 is the grizzled veteran who is who you control when you boot up the tutorial in Overwatch and is considered to be one of the easiest and most basic characters to introduce you to the game.
Blizzard has been very inclusive with Overwatch with characters of all different races hailing from all different countries. Aside from the continued controversy over a lack of a playable black female character, the representation has been wide enough to include most everyone. So it’s no surprise that some of the characters are LGBT+.
But the question I pose with this article is: is Overwatch gay enough? Is Blizzard taking the right approach to sexual representation in their game, or is this more of an appeal to the masses for good press?
